Introduction
:
Open Education is now accepted world wide . Open School under DDCE has been established to
fulfill the aspiration of those who could not go to Colleges and even Schools earlier, or those who have left educational institutions due to socio-economic factors. Intending students can seek admission under Open School without any pre-qualifications Presently, under Open School System DDCE is offering only +3 Arts (Pass) Courses. |

Eligibility |
1. An applicant who seeks admission into +3 Arts under Open School may not have passed any examination, i.e., I.A. or +2 or even matriculation. The applicant must have completed 18 years of age by 1st June, 2005, (i.e., those who are born before 1st June 1987). The candidates as proof of their age, are to produce either their birth certificate , matriculation certificate or affidavit made before the first class Magistrate / Tahsildar. Those with HSC qualification can seek admission under Open School only two years after passing HSC.
2. The applicant has to qualify through an Entrance / Eligibility Test. |

Selection |
Students will be selected on the basis of an eligibility test . The duration of the test shall be of 2 hours. The medium of the test shall be English and Oriya. The question will relate to language ability in English and Oriya.
The questions in English language are to be answered in English only. A student may opt for Higher English in lieu of Oriya. Other questions would include tests of comprehension, language ability both in English and Oriya and working knowledge in Social Sciences, Mathematics of the Senior / Higher Secondary standard, reasoning, aptitude and general awareness.
Cost of Form for Open School is Rs. 400/- (Form Rs.150/- + Entrance Test Fees
Rs.250/-)
Those who are found wanting in proficiency, in either language or content would be required to undergo a Bridge Course of 3 months duration to qualify for admission into +3 Arts in the next academic session on
successful completion. The fee prescribed for Bridge Course is
Rs. 650/-. |

Centre
of Entrance Test/University
Examination |
The centre of examination for Entrance Test and Bridge Course is DDCE. The centre of University Examinations and schedule of University examination shall be as per the decision of the Controller of Examinations, Utkal University. However, some of the exam centre of the University examinations is placed in the Instructions for Filling and Submitting the Application Form.

FILLING UP OF +3 ARTS EXAMINATION FORM |
| There will be 3 separate examinations named First University, Second University and Third University Examination under +3 Degree Course in Commerce (Pass ) on completion of 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year of the course respectively. Under the regulations fill-up of forms for admission to above examinations are mandatory. Students are required to fill up the form in the prescribed format given in Appendix and submit to the Directorate with
fees and other required documents as would be determined by the University from time to time either by person or by post. Intimation from the Directorate to this effect will be sent to each student in his / her address of correspondence. However, it will be the responsibility of the student to keep contact with the office of the DDCE in December every year as possibility of postal missing of
information's is unavoidable. Regarding back paper appearance (for failed and absentee students) intimation will be sent only after publication of results by the University. |
